Not only tennis at the BNL Italian International at the Foro Italico

Next to one of the most impressive ATP World Tour Masters 1000s, there will be another sport, the Padel, which has started the men’s and women’s Open Cup qualifiers today. Italgreen will be present at the important sports event as main sponsor along with Stadium Pro with which, installing outside of the Foro Italico two Padel fields in red synthetic turf . A remarkable participation, to which the Italian company has given a lot of attention not only for the prestige of the event, but also for being alongside a new sport with great potential.

In fact, the Padel is said to be a “born out of error” sport when a Mexican citizen built a tennis court in the 1970s, making the wrong size inside a walled area. Since then, so many things have changed, so that today the Padel is a reference sport for millions of people in the world.

Neither miniature tennis nor a squash variation, but sports discipline with its own identity that has a federation in Italy since 1991 and since 2008 is recognized by C.O.N.I. who inserted it within the Italian Tennis Federation.

The growth of Padel

In our country the Padel is experiencing exponential growth in the wake of the Argentine and Spanish enthusiasm for this sport. Italgreen is working hard to support and give it the right professional thrust by becoming the ideal partner to create ideal spaces to play every game thanks to synthetic turf available in any variation of color, from the most authoritative to the amateur. The Italian International BNL will surely be a great opportunity to play the right match so that this sport achieves the notoriety it deserves.
