PADEL FAQ.

FAQ

Welcome to the FAQ section dedicated to the installation of Padel courts! Here you will find all the information you need about the procedures to follow and useful directions for setting up your Padel court. The bureaucratic process can be outlined in 4 simple steps:

1. FEASIBILITY STUDY
What is it all about?

Preliminary analysis of constraints by developer:

  • Landscape
  • Noise
  • Urbanistic (distance to boundaries, lighting engineering, locker rooms, parking area, etc.)
  • Utility networks (power lines, gas lines, sewers, etc.)
  • Site logistics for truck and concrete mixer access.

Phase concludes with Commercial Offer and possible Outline Drawing

Do I have to apply for any permits from the municipality to set up a Padel court?

The Padel and its reinforced concrete basement are considered a construction in all respects, so they require municipal authorizations for construction; each municipality requires a different permit according to the regulations in force at the time of the request, so it will be up to the technician in charge of the client to activate one authorization rather than another (e.g. SCIA, CILA, PdC, etc.). In addition to that, again according to the regulations in force, plans and documentation will have to be prepared for entities in charge in addition to the municipality, e.g., the Civil Engineers, the Basin Authority, the Park Authority, etc.

Do you handle the paperwork/application/municipal permits?

All municipal practices and/or authorizations, must be carried out and requested by the client with the assistance of their own Professional/Technician licensed to the profession. Italgreen can give assistance to the technician in charge at every stage, so even at the authorization stage at the institutions it is possible to request some of the material useful for the initiation of the practice.

What do I have to do for municipal practice/application/authorization?

The advice is to contact a firm of professionals in the area who are able to follow the implementation at 360 ° starting with the Geological Report (Geologist) and then submit the application for the permit (Geom. Arch. Ing.) which will be followed by a structural design with subsequent Seismic Deposit (Ing.).

What do I need to do the structural design of the slab?

Once the professional has been identified and the Geological Report has been made, Italgreen can provide the designer with all the documentation needed to size the slab for the construction of the Padel.

Is your padel removable?

The structure of the Padel is totally removable; in fact, the grass system, glass, nets and structure can be disassembled and stacked on site; instead, the cables of the lighting system are cut off in the ground wells.

2. DRAFT
What is it all about?

Drafting by licensed engineers commissioned by the client of design drawings:

  • Architectural design (pdc or other building permits)
  • Structural design (foundation slab or curb)
  • Plant design (lighting system)

The phase ends with the conclusion of a contract (Order Confirmation)

How much space does the Padel frame and base occupy for a single Padel?
  • The structure occupies a minimum free space of mt. 20.50 Å~ 10.50.
  • The stalls without the technical areas minimum of mt 21Å~11.
  • The stalls with technical areas minimum of mt 21Å~14.
Can I install two padel courts together?

Since Padel is a banked game, it is essential that the walls have no obstructions at the moment of player impact, so it is never possible to join 2 courts, as for playability issues, all walls must be free of any obstructions for at least 10 cm.

I already have a stall, can I use it?

The appointed engineer should check the structural characteristics of the basement and assess that it is suitable for the installation of the Padel.

What thickness should the stalls be?

The thickness of the slab varies according to the Geological report and must be designed by a Structural Engineer; the thickness also varies according to whether only the Padel is installed. In case the client proceeds with the construction of the slab without having made a structural design in accordance with the law, it is possible to run into both criminal and civil issues.

Is it mandatory to have Technical Areas?

No. It is possible to host championships even without Technical Areas; it is necessary to notify the Federation/Entity, in the case of participation in tournaments/championships, of the absence of said technical areas to be included in the game rules.

Do you take care of the lighting system?

The installer takes care of the installation of our floodlights wired with a 7-meter cable that is brought to the foot of the lighting pillar. From there on until the switchboard is reached, it will be the job of an electrician commissioned by the client, the latter must also certify the installation.

Has your facility been designed in accordance with the law?

The structure is CE marked and built in accordance with EN 1090-1, which is mandatory and referred to by NTC 2018 and D.LGS 106/2017, in compliance with EU Regulation No. 305/2011

3. CONSTRUCTION
What is it all about?
  • Construction site
  • Construction supervision for the control and verification of the execution of the work and safety
  • Construction of the foundation with the preparation of manholes for the lighting system
  • Laying of the padel
  • Realization of the electrical system

The phase ends with the drawing up of the completion report

When can I start construction?
When there are permits submitted and approved by the relevant agencies. Afterwards, the work stipulated in the Order Confirmation can begin.

What are the work phases of the construction site?

In order of time, one may proceed with earthmoving for floor preparation, followed by basement reinforcement and insertion of conduits and manholes to conclude with concrete pouring (or basement finish of choice). Once the concrete curing time is over, the Padel installation can proceed.

Who should I contact besides Italgreen to complete the works?

In order to initiate the paperwork to receive authorization from the works, it is essential to hire Certified Technician for Construction Supervision and Safety Coordination. It will be useful to contact a Contractor for the construction of the basement with provisions for electrical system and possible drainage. Finally, an electrician will be needed for connection to the existing system or supply and installation of control panel and provision of the relevant system certifications.

How should I place the tubes for lighting?

It is possible to set them up either inside the basement or outside; Italgreen will be able to provide executive documentation for tracking and implementation.

What should the slab finish look like?

There can be different types of slab/subgrade.

If it is a single concrete (reinforced concrete) slab, this must have a helicopter finish with a light broom finish (not quartz smooth). In the case of outdoor footing, the surface is required to have slopes for rainwater runoff. Italgreen during the design phase will have already provided all the necessary documentation for designers to specify the design features of the basement.

How can I install the structure myself?

Italgreen can supply the KIT complete with all the materials needed to make the Padel, if necessary you can also ask Italgreen for an installer to check that the installation is done correctly.

What is the delivery time?

In order to book delivery of the field on a certain date, it is necessary for Italgreen to receive a signed order confirmation along with the collection of the predetermined down payment, unless other payment arrangements are made. From the day of collection, the counting of the days of time agreed upon with Italgreen begins.

How long does it take to install a field?

The installation of the structure is very quick and depending on the situation can range from 3 to 5 days; the work that takes the longest to build the field is the concrete slab, which requires curing for about 28 days to reach characteristic strength.

4. TESTING AND FITNESS
What is it all about?
  • Gathering of documentation necessary for the start-up of the activity
  • Submission of Technical File (Product Data Sheets and Certifications)
  • Closing of the file with the relevant bodies

The phase ends with the delivery of certifications and guarantees

Is your facility approved by the International Padel Federation?

The Padel structure complies with the construction standards set out in the International Padel Federation (FIP) regulations. It is therefore possible to obtain approval of the structure by application from the relevant body.

What can I customize?

For the playing field (synthetic turf), it is possible to customize:

  • synthetic turf; 10mm monofilament, 12mm fibrillated or 10mm textured monofilament

For the structure it is possible to customize:

  • floodlight poles, nets, uprights, belts and logo engraving
What can I put in the areas outside the field?

There is the option of leaving the existing base or installing synthetic grass of three different types:

  • Landscape landscaping synthetic grass (green in color);
  • Padel-like synthetic grass (same pattern but also in other colors);
  • Multipurpose/multi-sport synthetic grass (green, red or blue).
What warranty do you offer on the products?

The warranty as provided by current regulations, will last 2 years from the date of delivery of the synthetic turf, resulting from the documentation issued by Italgreen SpA.

The iron structure is guaranteed 10 years for abnormal deterioration in compliance with current regulations.

What maintenance does the field need?

Like any other sports facility, a padel court needs regular maintenance to ensure its safety, functionality, and durability. Maintenance can include cleaning the court surface and repairing damage caused by wear and tear or weathering. The frequency and intensity of maintenance depends on the frequency of use of the court and local weather conditions.
