The steps in the design of a soccer field

The first step in designing a soccer field is an inspection to verify that the ground has the appropriate characteristics to accommodate the future playing field. These include the dimensions:

• the field can range from 32x18m to 42x25m
• the goals must be 3x2m
• the penalty spot is 6m from the goal line

At this stage, the topographical survey is crucial and helps to determine the slope of the field, if any. In fact, the surface of the field should be smooth and flat so as to promote spectacular play and ball rolling.

After the inspection

At this point, the actual planning begins, which includes:

• the technical feasibility study
• the economic feasibility study with the various cost items
• the elaboration of the design of the soccer field
• the construction of the field
• the laying of the synthetic turf, which in turn includes three phases (soil stabilization, turf laying, infilling and brushing)
• the laying of complementary works, such as fencing, lighting system, equipment, and irrigation system

The most suitable synthetic grass for designing of a soccer field

In the budget of a soccer field project, there is no lack of synthetic grass entry, because:

• it allows great fluidity of play
• it allows ideal bounce and ball flow
• it allows optimal grip and foot twisting during the game and training sessions

It also possesses economic advantages:

• requires little maintenance, resulting in savings in irrigation costs
• makes it possible for the field to be used year-round, even following bad weather, because the drainage system under the turf prevents the accumulation of water on the surface
• is extremely resistant to continuous trampling, weathering and UV rays

What types of artificial turf do we recommend

• has a coloration in three shades of green, which recreates the effect of a natural lawn
• is characterized by extreme softness that greatly reduces abrasion coefficients
