40 Years of Italgreen

Italgreen, the Italian company of reference in the production of synthetic turf and padel fields, celebrates its 40th birthday today.

For 40 years, Italgreen has been synonymous with research, innovation and quality, which has enabled it to become a leader among synthetic turf and padel field manufacturers, both nationally and internationally.

FROM 1983 TO THE PRESENT

It was August 12, 1983, when Italgreen was founded and shortly thereafter would create the first soccer field, in Rome, for a sporting event. Few expected it, but the resulting success started the synthetic turf market, not only in Italy, but throughout Europe. The first milestone was laid, and as the years went by, other successes dotted Italgreen's history, which would go on to be benchmarks for the synthetic turf and sports construction industry.

In 1990, Italgreen installed the first in a long series of 11-a-side soccer fields, confirming its commitment to providing state-of-the-art solutions for all sportsmen and women. In 2003, the company opened its current 8,000-square-meter headquarters, expanding its production capacity and coverage of market demand. In 2005, Italgreen obtained its first FIFA approval for the Vítkovice Stadium in the Czech Republic, confirming the quality of its products at the international level.

Following this, 2010 was also a significant year for Italgreen, in that year in fact it built the first synthetic turf field for a Serie A stadium, Novara FC 's Silvio Piola Stadium (Today, after 13 years, under renovation also by Italgreen). This was one of the turning points, because it paved the way for numerous other installations of synthetic turf for prominent teams in the Italian football scene, such as Inter,Monza, Juventus and many others. In 2011, in conjunction with the opening of a new 13,000-square-meter warehouse, the company opened a new strategic business division, Italgreen Landscape, its line of decorative synthetic turf, expanding the range of products offered and also meeting the needs of the end consumer. Internationally, Italgreen has always held a certain appeal, thanks to its innovative spirit, know-how, and almost artisanal attention to its products. So it was that, in 2016, all the necessary conditions for the 'opening, of the new Brazilian subsidiary came to be verified, this allowed it to consolidate its presence overseas, going so far as to build the first stadium of the Brasilerão league, the Arena da Baixada, of the Brazilian team Athletico Paranaense.

Today Italgreen is one of the cornerstones in the synthetic turf market. The experience gained over the years and the attention to detail in production have enabled Italgreen to offer high quality products with top-level performance and long service life.

RESEARCH, INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY

Italgreen over the years has been committed to creating increasingly sustainable and innovative products. One of the first and best known is Geofill®, a 100% natural infill composed of cork and coconut fibers that together with theNext shockpad system, polyethylene yarn and Ecogreen® coating make up a 100% recyclable system. In addition, to combat problems arising from microplastics, Italgreen has designed products such as ZeroFill, the infill-free turf. But Italgreen's R&D and innovation orientation has also led it to develop products such as Powergrass®, the natural and artificial hybrid lawn, an innovative project aimed at creating environmentally friendly sports fields, and Sanigrass® the first, revolutionary and patented antibacterial synthetic turf

With its wide range of synthetic turf products for soccer fields and all grass sports, Italgreen has achieved important milestones of excellence over the years. The company has received quality certifications issued by the National Amateur League and Labosport, becoming responsible for the construction of more than a third of the LND-approved synthetic turf fields in Italy.

Italgreen's commitment to innovation and sustainability is evidenced by the completion of a long and demanding path of study of logistic-production processes, which led to obtaining the EPD ( Enviromental Product Declaration) certificate, the most important and recognized product certificate in the field of environmental sustainability.

ITALGREEN PADEL

But Italgreen's commitment is not limited only to synthetic turf for soccer. In recent years, the company has expanded its business areas, entering the growing and trending padel market. Italgreen's padel courts are of the highest quality and thanks to its constant attention and care for its products, Italgreen has gained recognition as the official supplier of the FIP (International Padel Federation) establishing its presence internationally, recently became the official supplier of padel courts for the FITP (International Tennis and Padel Federation) and last but not least a member of the CIP (Cluster Internacional Padel). This has allowed Italgreen to strengthen its commitment to the industry and confirming the confidence of the highest sports bodies in the quality of its products.
