Padel, a beneficial sport for entrepreneurs and players

Padel, a beneficial sport for entrepreneurs and players

Originating in Mexico in the 1970s, padel is booming all over the world. After all, besides being easily accessible to men, women and children, it provides considerable physical and mental benefits. Not to mention, accommodations see padel as a real form of investment. Here's why.

In recent years, there has been a real padel-mania in our country: according to Federtennis statistics, at the end of 2020 there were 10,702 FIT members, which is 1,230 more than the previous year. This figure, of course, does not take into account all amateur players: we can therefore assume that the number of practitioners is considerably higher.

Why? Well, first of all, padel possesses several advantages for users and investors, as our padel consultant and partner Riccardo Bollati, owner of Campidapadel.it, explains:

A padel court is the best investment you can make

According to some data reported by Corriere dello Sport, padel courts across the peninsula havedoubled in number, with each facility equipping itself with an average of 2.2 padel courts-a trend that appears to continue into 2021.

Surprising? Not too much if we get down with pen and paper and jot down a couple of numbers.

Take, for example, a tennis court: the standard measurements are about 18 m x 36 m. Well, in this same space we can build as many as three padel courts, which means more than doubled earnings: while tennis requires only two players, padel requires four per game, which, multiplied by the three courts, makes as many as 12 players!

Even more concretely, in a 700 sq. m. space corresponding roughly to the width of a tennis court, padel can earn you as much as €120 per hour, compared to €12 for tennis. That's not all: a couple of calculations regarding how much a padel facility yields reveal decidedly attractive figures, with potential profits exceeding €3000 monthly.

Interesting, isn't it?

A sport full of benefits

Mens sana in corpore sano, said the ancient Romans. They were right, and padel seems to have been born for this very purpose!

It is a dynamic and fun sport that is suitable for practically everyone, even young children because it helps fight sedentariness and:

  • improves coordination, agility and responsiveness
  • promotes socialization and cooperation
  • increases self-esteem and the desire to improve oneself
  • improves the cardiovascular and cardiovascular systems
  • allows the release of endorphins
  • improves the quality of rest and sleep

In addition, because of the rules to be followed and cooperation with a teammate, padel helps to acquire self-discipline, which is useful in both school and work.

Padel, safe even in times of Coronavirus

In addition to its benefits for mind and body, padel is one of the safest sports. It is no coincidence, in fact, that its practice on outdoor courts has increased greatly in this pandemic year: each player has about 50 square meters of space and requires no contact.
